Welcome to AnnoyedMan.com, a website archiving the many rants, musings, screeds, and diatribes of The Annoyed Man - the most annoyed man on the Internet. I am, in this order of importance, a Christian, husband, father, grandfather, curmudgeon, and patriot. I am a Liberative Conservatarian, and a registered independent - having at various times in my life made the grave, but fortunately reversible, mistake of having registered as either a democrat or a republican. I consider myself an unbiased observer of people and politics. It is possible (nay, even likely) that something I publish here will offend you. Try and imagine how little I care. The Constitution of the United States of America protects your right to your opinions, including a right to BE offended; but exactly nowhere in that august document is there a section protecting you FROM offense. If you're angry enough about something I write, then you can cart your snowflake ass off somewhere else; or better yet, you can pull up your big-boy pants, try adulting for a while, and get your own website where you can write all you want about what a jerk I am.

If you're not offended, then we'll get along just fine; so pull up a chair, light a cigar, take a sip of that whiskey, and enjoy the visit.

An Honest Appraisal of Dana Loesch's NRA Ad

First, a disclosure in the name of clarity and transparency: I am an Endowment Life Member of the National Rifle Association, so I am not an impartial observer of these events. However, I always try to be an honest purveyor of information, and I am painfully aware that — just as happens on the left — there are conservatives and libertarians who are poor witnesses for the 2nd Amendment's individual right to keep and bear arms (RKBA). I mention libertarians and conservatives because, for the past 20 years or so, liberals have been advocating for the Amendment's demise - arguing for an interpretation that is so far removed from the intent of its authors as to be a complete reversal of that intent.

Manvotional: The Debt We Owe to Fathers

Today is Father's Day, and as it happens, I have a lot of time available, doing nothing other than to contemplate its meaning. I am at home; my left lower leg in a cast-like boot, having torn a tendon in my ankle; my right wrist in a brace due to a chronic carpal tunnel syndrome that popped up a few months ago; the meniscus in my right knee in need of an orthopedist's care; and still recovering from almost a month now of a respiratory infection. Old age is not for the faint of heart. I expect all of this to either get better on its own, or be made better by a qualified physician, so it is not my permanent state; but it seems to take longer these days to bounce back from things, and even relatively minor ailments when taken in the aggregate seem to be particularly debilitating. [Cough! Whimper.]

Camille Paglia: On Trump, Democrats, Transgenderism, and Islamist Terror

There are not very many people on America's political left who inspire confidence in me. Camille Paglia is one such person. Prior to the election of Barack Obama as POTUS, there was a category of democrats who ran for the office with whom I disagreed on substantive issues, but about whom I did not feel they were an existential threat to either the nation, or to the rule of law. Barack Obama was the first democrat candidate about whom I feared for the future of the country. In many regards, my fears have been realized. I viewed the possible election of Hillary Clinton as a death blow to constitutional gov't, which must be averted at all costs.
