Over the years, I have bought and sold or traded a number of different kinds of firearms, including revolvers and semiautomatic handguns; over and under, pump action, and semiautomatic shotguns; and bolt action, semiautomatic, and single-shot rifles. Calibers have included .22 Long Rifle, .380 ACP, .38 Special, 9x19mm, .357 Magnum, .45 ACP, .44 Magnum, .223 Remington/5.56 NATO, .300 Blackout, .30 Carbine, 7.62x39mm, 7.62x54R, .308 Winchester/7.62 NATO, 20 Gauge, and 12 Gauge. But until fairly recently in my personal gun-owning history, I had never owned a lever action rifle, chambered in a classic lever action caliber.
A sizable part of the nation has lost its mind.
In 2016, democrats ran possibly the worst candidate in their history against a republican that nobody but his most ardent followers (at first) really believed could win. I could waste a lot of time here about exactly why Hillary Clinton was such a bad candidate, but that’s enough meat for a whole other post by itself.....and maybe I’ll tackle it some day if I ever feel like pawing through history’s dustbin.
Three times now on Facebook in the last week or two, I have "unfollowed" a friend - someone I have known only because my faith walk as a Christian believer brought me into contact with them. One of them is somebody I have known for my entire believing life as a follower of Christ. The other two are a husband and wife whom I like personally, but I just simply could not disagree with more. I did not "unfriend" any of these three persons (see "God of relationships" below). I merely unfollowed them because the content of their posts was bothering me and it kept showing up on my timeline. They didn't bother me because I was convicted by something they said. Rather their posts bothered me because I was insulted by something they said. I used to try to enter into a debate with these friends, to say, "hey, wait a minute here.....you're going off half cocked and ignoring a whole lot of facts that are inconvenient to your narrative", but I've given up on these discussions because they don't work. Some of my friends, you see, have become leftists. They just don't know it yet.
